dynamic, static, foil). Refer to Activities folder (Google Drive) for notes
and examples from Little Women.
3. Interpret plot and organize it into parts. All stories we have
read thus far in class should help you continue to practice this as you
study. Plot and Signposts in your Activities folder (Google Drive) also
reviews the elements of a plot.
4. Analyze how setting is important to plot,
characterization, and signposts. Assignment 2 (Alone in the
Night), the Characterization Activity (Little Women), and The

Monkeys Paw should all help you review for this. You could also
analyze how setting is important to the plot as you read your CPR
Book.
5. Develop theme statements for literary works. In your
Activities folder (Google Drive), there is a handout called Guided
Theme Notes. This should refresh you on theme statements, as well
as our class activity on Ode to Stone. Your theme statement notes
on The Chaser will also assist you in preparing to identify and write
theme statements.
6. Summarize literary works using objective summaries. In
your Activities folder (Google Drive), the Objective Summaries
document will help you prepare for this, as will writing an objective
summary for your CPR Book, which you did for your Book Talk.
