Marine Biology

Oceanology is the branch of geography that studies the ocean. It covers a range of topics,
including the ecosystem. Marine biology however is the study of life in the oceans and other
saltwater environments such as estuaries and wetlands. Marine biology can be broken down and
looked deep into in so many ways. Scientist have been able to characterize each animal group that
belong to the ocean, such as Ichthyology, Microbiology, Marine mammology, Marine ethology etc.
Life in the sea has been a subject of fascination for thousands of years. The oceans cover 71% of
this world, Scientists estimate that no more than 5% of the oceans have been explored.
