John Henry test thingy

By Romey Angerer Sueppel

With an amazing title

The story of John Henry shows that he was a hard working man. The first
piece of evidence is that when he was just a child he went up to the mountain to
drive steel. The author writes John Henry went up on the mountain just to drive
himself some steel the rocks were so tall and John Henry was so small this
shows that he is a hard working man because he went to a mountain to drive
steel for fun as a kid. Another example of him being hard working is that he
would rather hammer himself to death then let a steam drill beat him in a mining
race. The author states John Henry started on the right-hand side, and the steam
drill on the left. He said before Id let that steam drill beat me down Id hammer
my fool self to death this shows he is hardworking because hed rather die the
loose a race to a machine. The third piece of evidence is that John Henry beat
the steam drill in the race by 30 minutes. The author states the steam drill
started at half past six, John Henry started at the same time. John Henry struck
bottom at half past eight and the steam drill didnt bottom till nine this shows that
he worked so hard he beat the machine by thirty minutes in a mining race. The
final piece of evidence is that he worked himself to death. John Henry could have
stopped but he didnt and instead he worked so hard he died. The authors says
John Henry hammered on the mountain till half-past three, he said This big
bend tunnel on the big C & O road is going to be the death of me. The reason
that this shows he is hardworking is because he works himself to death instead
of stopping. And those are the reasons John Henry was hard working.
