SolidWorks Electrical Test Drive Setup

You must unarchive both included tewzip projects to prepare computers for the test drive. The test
drive is created as an instructor-led session and is not intended to be a self-paced exercise. It is best
suited to be led by a knowledgeable instructor with participants following step-by-step at their
workstation. It is also not intended as a replacement for formal SolidWorks Electrical training.
Use the opportunity to discuss how the participants currently handle the actions covered in the exercise.
The benefits of SolidWorks Electrical will naturally flow from those conversations. Point out key
differentiators during the session such as:

Ease of use
SolidWorks integration for wire and cable routes and lengths
Automation of documentation (terminal strip drawings and reports)
BOM tracking
Component updating (optional)
Sheet/reference updating

The session will run approximately 2 hours if you skip all optional content. Plan to spend 3 or more
hours if you would like to cover all optional content.
1. Unarchive SolidWorks Electrical Hands-On Completed.proj.tewzip. Update components from the
project. Do not open the project. This will ensure you have all parts, symbols and models
needed for the exercise. You can also use this project to show participants the end result before
you begin.
2. Unarchive SolidWorks Electrical Hands-On.proj.tewzip. Do not update components from the
project. Open this project as the starting point.
The test drive was built and tested on 2013 SP3.
