My name is Lydos and I am owned by Epimachos, a potter. I work in his
workshop in the Kerameikos, near a cemetery. I am training to become a potter, too.
My name is Kallo and I work for Ampharete. I help her spin wool and sell cloth
in the Agora.
My name is Kleitos and I work in my owners workshop with his son, Myron. I
am owned by Diokles, the goldsmith.
I am Theron and I am a paidagogos to Leagros. My owners are Eleutheros and
Theodosia.
My name is Pyrrhus and I belong to Kallipos. I spend much of my time
entertaining Kallipos and his friends at his many parties.
I am Lysandra and I am a nanny to Leagros and his younger sister. My
owners are Eleutheros and Theodosia.
My name is Diokles and I am a goldsmith. I own a workshop near the Agora. I
moved to Athens to practice my craft, but my wife Pelagia and I are originally from
Corinth.
I am Neophytos. I used to be a slave, but I was recently freed and now I work
as a shoemaker in the Agora.
My name is Eirene. I am an aulos player hired to play at the symposia and
parties. I moved to Athens from Thebes.
I am Pelagia, wife to Diokles and mother of Myron. Diokles and I moved to
Athens from our home in Corinth before Myron was born.

I am Simonides, a potter. I moved to Athens from Olympia to practice my craft


during the Solon period.
My name is Zopyros and I am a former slave. Now that I am free, I can pursue
my passion for art and sculpture.
My name is Ampharete. I sell cloth in the Agora every day to provide for my
three children, though I often receive scornful looks throughout the day.
I am Zenias. My husband is Aristophan. My family lives on a farm in the
countryside outside of Athens.
My name is Theodosia. My husband is Eluetheros and my son is Leagros. Our
family is very wealthy.
My name is Leagros and Im a 12-year-old boy. My father is Eleutheros and my
mother is Theodosia. Our family is very wealthy and I am studying very hard at the
Academy.
My name is Euanthe and I am a 10-year-old girl. My mother is Ampharete. I
often help her spin wool by beating and carding the wool.
My name is Myron and I am 10 years old. I am the son of Diokles and Pelagia. I
work with my father and Kleitos as an apprentice goldsmith. My family is from
Corinth, but I was born in Athens.
My name is Adamas and I am a sculptor. My work has been commissioned by
many wealthy citizens in this city. I often work with marble and bronze.
My name is Epimachos and I am a potter. I have a workshop in the
Kerameikos. I am currently training my slave, Lydos, to be a potter.

My name is Aristophan and I am an olive farmer from the countryside near


Athens. My wife is Zenias. We are not very wealthy, but I enjoy my work.
My name is Eluetheros and I am a very wealthy man and a socialite. I am very
interested in politics and often attend the symposia.
My name is Appelleas and I am a mathematician and a scholar. I like to spend
my time with like-minded men.
My name is Kallipos and I am a very wealthy man and a socialite. I enjoy
hosting parties and rubbing elbows with other wealthy Athenians.
