Apple Pandowdy

Ingredients
3 c. apples, cored, peeled, and sliced
c. brown sugar
1 t. cinnamon
1 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 c. flour
3 t. baking powder
t. salt
1 c. milk
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9 x 13 glass pan.
Spread apples in the bottom of the pan. Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle over apples.
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg. Combine flour, baking powder and salt with a whisk.
Add to butter mixture along with milk.
Pour batter over the top, spreading evenly. Bake for 50 minutes. Remove from oven. Let
stand for 10 minutes. To serve, invert on serving dish or serve baking pan.

Butter the glass pan (1-2 people)


Core, peel, slice apples with tool put in dish (3-4 people taking turns)
Gather and mix brown sugar and cinnamon from pantry sprinkle over apples (12 people)
Cream butter and sugar (2-3 people taking turns)
Beat egg and add to butter (1 person)
Gather flour, baking powder, and salt combine (2 people)
Get milk (1-2 people)
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients (everyone could have a turn)
Pour batter over apples (1-2 people with help of adult)
Take to oven in kitchen, set timer (adult plus 1-2 children)
Clean up (all)
