United States History - Rules
United States History - Rules
Mr. Harkins
RULES FOR UNITED STATES HISTORY
There are a number of rules and regulations which must be followed while in United States History class.
Each member of the class should become familiar with the rules in order to avoid problems in the future.
1.
GET TO CLASS ON TIME. If you are late, you must have a pass signed by a teacher or administrator.
Also, if you enter class late for a legitimate reason, enter the room quietly, and take your seat with as
little disruption as possible.
2.
If a student has a pass to be excused from class before the end of the period, let the teacher know
before class has begun. The teacher should know when and why you are leaving class. If you are
scheduled to leave during class, do so with no interruptions.
3.
Food and drinks in room B308 will only be allowed if cleared (no lunch on schedule, etc.) with the
teacher.
4.
Please put your extra books or book bag under your desk in order to keep the aisles between the desks
clear.
5.
Please do not touch the windows, shades, thermostat, or equipment in the room. All of these items are
the teacher's responsibility, not the student's.
6.
Bathroom permission will be given at the teacher's discretion. Try to use the bathroom between classes
if possible. Please take the lanyard (with pass) and sign out each time you leave.
7.
If you miss class for a legitimate reason there are a few procedures of which you should be aware:
-
Prior to the beginning of class, see the teacher to determine if there is anything to make up from
the prior days class.
If you missed a quiz or test, see the teacher to determine when the quiz or test should be made up.
The test or quiz must be made up within two days of your return or a zero will be given.
Do not use class time to copy/record notes/finish assignments from the previous class period.
This takes you out of the current class period, and in essence, you are taking yourself out of the
current class notes/discussion/activity.
8.
If the business of class ends before the period ends, remain in your seat. You may not, under any
circumstances, wait at the door! Also, do not begin packing up your books and equipment until the
teacher is finished the lesson for the day. This is simply a matter of good manners.
9.
Cell Phones Off and away unless the class or individuals have been given permission to use them by
the teacher. Please use proper etiquette with your device(s). If you do not, it will be confiscated by the
teacher.
10. Be respectful of all students in the classroom. Disrespectfulness will not be accepted toward students
or the teacher. If there is a problem with another student or the teacher, speak with the individual
before or after class in private. Also, respect all books and equipment in the room.
These rules add up to little more than a combination of personal responsibility, manners, common sense,
and courtesy. Each of you are now adults, and you are expected to act as though you are one.
