Passion Play- tells the story of the triumphs and the suffering of a god
It came from the Passion of the Christ
Ancient Egypt Game of Thrones
Osiris- Son of Geb and Nut (Geb means earth and nut means sky)
Set- Brother to Osiris
Isis- Wife/sister of Osiris
Horace- Son of Isis and Osiris
The Abydos passion play:
Story goes like this: Osiris is the very first King of Ancient egypt and everyone loves him. Set
is jealous, so he builds a box that fits Osiris's exact shape. Then he has this box built. One
day he take this box to a party and shows everyone who all thinks it's cool. He says whoever
can fit in it perfectly gets to keep it. In a cinderalla like fashion Osiris is the only one who fits
(he has to cross his arms like a mummy). Then Set closes the box and nails it shut and
throws the box in a river. Isis is very sad about her husband/brothers demise so she goes to
find his box, opens it, and finds him dead. She tries to revive him and goes for help. Set finds
the body and chops it up into little pieces and spreads it out over egypt. Isis goes and finds
all these pieces and wraps them up in linen (like a mummy) and does some crazy magic and
brings him back to life long enough to have a child with him. Then he decides he can't stay
any longer so he goes and dies and she buries him. The Gods are very pleased with Isis and
what she did so they made her the keeper of the underworld.
