A student carried out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the pressure P and the
temperature T of an ideal gas. A graph of P against T is plotted as shown in Diagram below.

Diagram below shows a cylinder which is closed at one end and filled with a coloured gas. A balloon is
attached to the open end of the cylinder. The cylinder is then immersed in a tub of hot water. After a while, it
is found that the balloon has expanded.

Diagram below shows the simple structure of a pressure cooker. The water in the pressure cooker can boil in a
shorter time and at a temperature exceeding 120 C.
