writtentestanda4to5hourspracticaltestcomponentandonlythosewhopassbothcomponentsofthetestwillbeawarded
theSEC(K)certificate.
ThewrittentestcomponentconsistsofmultiplechoicequestionsinEnglishwithtranslationsinChinese,TamilandThai.It
ensuresthattheworkerpossessessentialtradeknowledgesuchasthematerials,toolsandequipmentusedinthetradework
sequencegoodpracticestobeadoptedandsafetyrequirements.
Thepracticaltestcomponentassessestheworkerspracticalcraftskillscompetency.Itensuresthattheworkerisableto
meetqualitystandardsforthetradethroughthetimelycompletionofapracticaltestprojectbasedontheexpectedskillssetof
askilledtradesman.

UponreceiptofthePriorApproval(PA)andtwocopiesofFormT1(applicant'scopyandBCA'scopy)fromtheConstruction
PermitSection,thecontractor/applicantcompanyisrequiredtocompleteandsubmitbothcopiesofFormT1andtheoriginal
approvedPAformtotherespectiveS'poreofficesoftheselectedOTCs.
Toregisterforoverseastesting,thePriorApproval(PA)isrequiredtobevalidforatleast2monthsfromtheclosingdatefor
testsinthatcountry.TheOTCwillrecordthenumberoftestcandidatesregisteredfortestandendorsebothFormT1and
originalPAform,andreturntheApplicant'sCopyofFormT1tothecontractors.
Therespectivecontractors/employerswhoregistertheirtestcandidatesfortradetestsmustbringandemployallthosewho
havepassedtheSEC(K)tests,within4monthsafterthetestdate.
Upontheforeignworkers'arrivalinSingapore,theemployermust,withinoneweekofworkers'arrival,bringthosewhohave
passedtheSEC(K)teststoBCA'sEnrolmentUnitforidentityverification.WorkPermitwillonlybeissuedtoverifiedworkers.

Theapplicant(theCompany)registeringtheworkersfortestathigherskilllevelunderthemanyearentitlementwavierrouteis
requiredtosubmittoBCAaRequestforApproval.TheapplicantmayapproachtheOTCwithwhomhewouldliketoapplyfor
thecandidatetotaketestinandviatheOTCofficeinSingaporesubmittheRequestforApprovaldocumenttoBCA.Inthe
RequestforApproval,undertheconditionsoftestregistration,theapplicant(theCompany)istoundertaketobringinand
employallthosenewworkerswhohavepassedthetestswithin5monthsfromthetestdates.Theapplicantneednotsubmit
thePriorApprovalandFormT1butwouldberequiredtosubmitotherdocumentsforverificationpurposes.Theformatofthe
RequestforApprovalanddetailsoftheotherdocumentstobesubmittedcanbeobtainedfromtheOTCofficesinSingapore.
Testcandidateswhohavepassedtheirtestsarerequiredtohavetheiridentitiesverifiedinpersonat200BraddellRoad,within
the1stweek,upontheirarrivalinSingapore.Failingwhich,theirworkpermitapplicationsmaynotbeapproved.

TermsandConditionsForAcceptanceofTradeTestRegistration
BCAreservestherighttocancel,withoutnoticethetradeteststhathavebeenscheduledandregisteredandtheacceptance
oftheregistrationoftradetestsissubjecttothefollowing:
i. TherelevantOTCandBCAwillonlyrespectivelyrefundthetestadministrationfeeandthetestfeecollected
ii. Thetestregistrationapplicantanditsagentshallaccepttherisks,lossandinconveniencewhatsoeverthatmayarise
fromregisteringhisworkersforthetradetestsandundertaketoindemnifyandkeepharmlessBCAagainstall
proceedings,suits,actions,claims,demand,costsandexpenseswhatsoeverwhichmaybetakenormadeagainstBCA
inrespectofanyloss,damageorwhatsoeveroccasioneddirectlyorindirectlyfromthecancellationofthetests.
