Notes:

NB symbol are National Board Serial Number to be stamped only when the vessel is
registered with National Board.
Maximum allowable external working pressure (MAEWP) to be applied only when applicable.
ASME Certification Mark shall be stamped on name plate.
U Certificate Designator shall be 4mm minimum and can be stamped / embossed / engraved
on the name plate.
* Place for marking type of construction e.g. W (for welded construction). This should be
followed by hyphen and service restriction marking (when applicable) e. g. W-L (for Lethal).
W-UB (for unfired steam boiler). W-DF (for direct firing)
** Place for making RT requirements
*** Place for heat treatment marking HT (for full PWHT) PHT (for partial PWHT).
The name plate shall be at least 0.5mm thick.
All other data on name plate shall be minimum 4mm character size and shall be indented or
raised at least 0.10mm.
Actual marking details (including pressure & temperature conditions) shall be shown on the
drawings.
