The Thesis represents modern and new concepts of libraries in the

context of new working spaces, technologies and multimedia devices, and also their influence
onto architectural spaces. The primary approach for a library in this Paper begins with the
analyse of the existing library concepts. The study questions significant issues such as: What is a
library today? What is the significance of a book in the Internet era? How do we study and work
today? The wish is to be created a gathering place in the central city area in Novi Pazar, where an
urban potential is not completely used. Hence, the idea on a new model of a library as the
gathering point, represents the concept of space creation that is in large a part of everyday life.
The idea and project of the new library model should secure a place for all groups of its users,
and in this way, adjusts the library concept where it becomes an addition to a public space; a
hybrid between the library and public space.
