INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY SERVICES

Summary: This study tells about intelligence and security services/
agencies, their structure, organization principles, classification, characteristics
and methods and means they apply in their work. It was pointed out the place
and the role of intelligence and security services/agencies in traditional and
modern concept of state security, especially in relation with their different
position, duties and tasks in fighting terrorism and organized crime. Namely,
problems of terrorism and organized crime prevention and suppression,
during the time became dominant in program determinations almost every
modern intelligence and security services/agencies which generally try
to uncover preparations for terrorist and criminal acting. Regarding this,
effective counteraction to the terrorism and organazed crime activities
demands high quality intelligence work on strategic, tactical and psychological
field. Without collected information, it is impossible to do quality operative
and strategic analysis that should result with development of comprehensive
intelligence assessments relevant for making decisions how to act.
