HANDLING OF STAINLESS STEEL DURING FABRICATION & STORAGE

Corrosion in Stainless Steel occurs due to the availability of free iron particle on its
surface (sources from atmosphere). In order to avoid corrosion, clean work
environment to be used for fabrication of Stainless Steel Material.

Hold Stainless steel in original packing till the start of fabrication.

Storage area shall be clean, dry and free dirt, iron particles, scales and other
contaminants which could start corrosion in stainless steel material.
Fabrication shall take place in a controlled environment, so that corrosion
does not happens.
As possible as can, use of separate tools like grinding tool, machining tool
etc. for Stainless Steel Material is recommended.
For pipes, End caps to be used during shipping & storage.
