Drug & Alcohol Testing

1. Which employees are subject to the regulations, including which employees are
in test-designated positions.
All classified employees
2. Define what the term test-designated position.
Safety sensitive, needing driver license, law enforcement, firearm, unsupervised access to
offenders.
3. What is prohibited by these regulations.
Alcohol BAC .02% or greater, if over .08% not available for rehire, marijuana, cocaine,
amphetamines, opiates, PCP, others per employers policy.
4. The circumstances under which employees will be tested for drugs & alcohol.
Reasonable suspicion, random testing, post accident, pre appointment, follow up
5. The penalties or other consequences for an employee found to have violated provisions of
civil service rule 2-7.
