Reflection:
Was the lesson engaging to students? If not how can I improve this for
next lesson? Yes the lesson was engaging. Students were excited to
commence their Robobug and were looking forward to commence their
practical work on the scroll saw.
Was the lesson content suitable? Yes. All students were able to complete
the required tasks gluing on their design and use of the scroll saw.
Were all students able to use the scroll saw correctly? The students that
were able to use the scroll saw in the given time were able to correctly
use the scroll saw. Direct supervision was essential to ensure students
were using the scroll saw correctly as it was their first time in the
workshop and using the machines.
Was there enough variation in the lesson to accommodate for all
students? The lesson had both theory and practical components which
provided variation for the students and kept them engaged with the
lesson and the required content.
What difficulties did I experience throughout the lesson? What are my
strategies to improve these for next lesson? Keeping the students
focused and engaged at the end of the lesson in the workshop, as there
were only three scroll saws to use. To improve this and ensuring it
doesnt happen again, I will divide the class with two different activities
so that all students are completing work and get a chance to use the
equipment.
