Topic: Causes of World Hunger that Impact the World.
Report of the Chair
Around the world today many countries suffer with poverty, but being more specific
world hunger affects a lot of the countries. There are 854 million people who go hungry across
the world. Poverty is a problem that plagues all areas of hunger as it is negatively affected in
different ways. Examples that help further take this point to a standstill such as the Tobacco
Industry removes land that prevents crops to be grown. This is an aspect of how hunger is
affected because of plants, that yield crops to survive for countries to harvest for themselves, and
profit off of. Health effects of the ones who struggle with hunger lead to diseases such as
malnutrition, and micronutrients deficiency (lack of vitamins, and minerals).
Factors of world hunger are sought to be where countries are located, and how food
sources are scarce as well. Hunger can be effected from outcomes such as natural disasters that
can decimate sources of food. This puts consequences of for developing countries that suffer.
An example to this is the Central American and Caribbean tropical depression that plagued the
countries, in particular the food sources. The problem at hand is how climate changes play a role
in how food is a scarcity. According to the UNEP, about of the world's food produced is lost
or wasted in food production. The world is filled with hunger, rising food prices, and are
affecting world hunger environmentally, and morally. World Hunger on this situation, as
improvements are not really being talked about to help the topic. Fertile land is being threatened
by erosion, desertification as these examples are taking away from growing any food to feed.
UN actions toward World Hunger are to achieve the Millennium Developmental Goals.
Those goals were it galvanized effort to meet needs of the poorer countries. Working with
governments, and civil societies to make progress towards MDGs being generated and to
continue to progress on these goals. The WFP(World Food Programme) is enhancing more food
products that have more nutrition for kids, mothers, and etc. Resolutions and talking points have
been brought to discussion in conferences such as how the topic of world hunger is one that
heavily relies on the proposed 8 Millennium Developmental Goals. While World Hunger
currently is still heavily reliant on the progressing hopes about world hunger.

Furthermore World Hunger is an issue that plagues millions of people globally, and
locally as well. Diseases are factors, and outcomes of why world hunger is a main problem that
is finding ways to become solved for the future. Drastically makes malnutrition, and hunger
globally impacting health. Throughout to be able to solve this is complex in it way that its not a
situation that can be done with. In conclusion with World Hunger effecting this planet globally,
it's a scarcity that makes the topic become one that can come together to solve this.
