Preamble

Hello/Tansi:
The program Healing the Nation-One Family At A Time was first implemented under
the federal government initiative Urban Multipurpose Aboriginal Youth Centers
(UMAYC) from 1999 to 2000.
The program was jointly supported by the Canadian Government (Canadian Heritage)
and their provincial counterparts.
Following that it was funded from 2002 to 2003 by the Aboriginal Healing Foundation
(AHF) and supported by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services and Human
Resources Development Canada (HRDC).
This program was chosen from a number of submissions by a group of Aboriginal and
First Nations' youth as a program that has real promise for their youth and families 'at
risk'. They were right it had promise and still has.
The program was successful-very successful as evaluated by the participants. I had the
pleasure of witnessing and documenting their successes.
We invite the Aboriginal and First Nations' youth everywhere in Canada, on reserves
and off and in urban centers, to once again look at the merits of this program and decide
if this program (revised 2016) has promise to heal you and your family and nation.
First Nations' peoples know the truth about their 'pain and suffering'. Therefore the
primary leadership for the implementation of this program will be sought.
My eldest granddaughter, Charlene Dobson, has helped me with the revisions of this
program. Currently she is a student at First Nation's University of Canada (FNUC). Her
input and her healing journey from severe abuse and 'pain and suffering' has been
remarkable. Her wisdom and insight as to what she believes her people need is priceless.
Her voice can be heard at her website: http://www.voicesofthebruised-reeds.com
We are excited about the possibilities of this 'holistic' program.
To those who are receiving this proposal, we look forward to your response and
networking with you to ensure its' implementation and success.
Sincerely,
Arlene Lowery & Charlene Dobson
