Language and Effect
Breathe in and then out. Only two more penalties to decide which team is the winner.
Blood is flowing and goosebumps raising. Your player walks to the line. Fingers crossed and
prayers begin to whisper. The whistle is blown and the ball is kicked. With eyes shut and ears
ringing. The ball sails into the back of the net. Breathe in and out. One last penalty and all the
pressure is on the opposing team's girl. Arms linked and heads bowed we stand and wait. The
whistles blown, the field is silent, and the ball hits the bar. With a cheers of joy and tears of
happiness we storm the field in our final celebration.
