MBT-MBrace

RESICEM
Vapour permeable saturant for MBTMBrace FRP sheet systems
Description
MBT-MBrace RESICEM is a Solvent-free, 3-component
epoxy resin with formulated amine hardener. The product
is formulated with special fillers and additives and is used

in conjunction with MBRACE FRP SHEET SYSTEMS.

MBT-MBrace FRP SHEET SYSTEM is based on a
family of ready to use carbon, glass or Aramid fibres that
provide high tensile strength and is used for flexural and
shear strengthening, confinement and impact and blast
resistance for many building materials.

Features and benefits

Application procedure

Breathable
Can be applied to green substrates
Provides additional alkaline deposit to concrete
Excellent Adhesion
Chemical Resistant
Impact Resistant
Supplied in the required pre-weighed proportions

Packaging
Liquid component 5kg unit
Powder component 4.0kg pack
Mixing ratio: 1 kg liquid : 0.8kg powder

Preparation of substrate:

The substrate shall be clean and free from any weak

material and any laitance.
Remove oils, grease, dust or other loose material
from the surface.

Mixing:
MBrace Resicem is supplied in the required proportions.
Add the reactor component to the base and mix for 30
seconds, using a slow speed drill and paddle. Then
slowly add the given powder and thoroughly mix until a
homogeneous lump and streak free mix is achieved.
Application:
The mixed MBrace Resicem can then be utilised to install
the chosen MBrace FRP sheet system by the dry lay-up
application method i.e. the Resicem is applied onto the
prepared substrate by roller OR by the wet lay-up
method by pre-impregnating the chosen MBrace FRP
sheet with MBrace Resicem using a Laminator machine.
Cleaning:
Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with
CLEANING SOLVENT No 2.

Curing

Storage

At low temperatures (below 10C) the curing of MBrace

RESICEM will be delayed. Shade from direct sunlight
following installation.

Store at ambient temperatures in cool, dry warehouse

conditions in manufacturer's sealed containers.

Shelf life

Consumption

Up to 12 months if stored according to manufacturer's

instructions.

Consumption is dependent upon the type and grade of

FRP sheet to be installed. The table below gives a
guideline for estimating.
