ADVENT 2016

H e S hall B e P eace

ELLICOTT CITY, MD

OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP

he Savior is spoken of by the prophets as

the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:5), whose
coming will lead nations to beat their
swords into plowshares and their spears into
pruning hooks (Isaiah 2:5). Creation is meant to
share in the peace He brings when the wolf shall
be a guest of the lamb. (Isaiah 11:5) But above all,

OLPHPARISH.ORG

this peace is meant for our hearts: to be at peace in

our relationship with God, with others and with
ourselves. This Advent, as we prepare for the
celebration of the birth of Jesus and his coming
again, let us pray that we will experience and know
the peace He came to bring.

Spend Quiet Time with Jesus during

Eucharistic Adoration
Every Wednesday from 9:00am until
Saturday at 8:00am we have the
opportunity to pray before Jesus t r u l y
present in the Blessed Sacrament
during Eucharistic Adoration. With faith
in His words This is my Body, we
come before Him and spend time in
His presence. In the midst of the holiday rush,
stop into the Chapel, slow down, and spend
some quiet time with Jesus as He invites you to
open your heart to Him and speak with Him in
prayer or simply enjoy sitting in His presence.
