Tessa takes a simpler approach to Collagraph. in the picture noted she has a basic, yet very
descriptive black and white collagraph peice. through her printing she has made very fine shapes
black blots that seem to spread outwards like spiders legs. A collograph by definition refers to a
collage of materials glued on to a "printing plate," which is a square of cardboard. When glue is dry,
it is shellaced or varnished so that it can be painted with acrylics. Paper is then pressed on to the
surface to produce a print, as you can see from the piece bellow shows definitive shapes created by
things that have been stuck down onto a surface, the pattern although set up in a random way has
been well thought about as you can see layers on black and white, patterns like stripes can be seen
along with the random circles, which sort of look similar to my ocean jasper peice the way it spikes
out at the rim of the circle
