Dad
I think one of my earliest memories of you involves a little game we used play on
weekend mornings you used to pick me up high on your legs. Palak and I would fight
around 24/7 in Tirupati while at first you pretend to ignore. And as soon as either of us
get little more louder, youd shout Hane Bas Karota, Ke Aav Ubho Thya?. Over and
over and over again. I remember laughing so hard that I probably almost have those
khushi ke aasu.
Youre an easy person to love, Dad. For so many reasons.
Your personality is magnetic. Everyone knows your sense of humor is one of the first
things that can draw anyone to you. Your dance moves are unparalleled. You are the
life of the party wherever we go. And I love that. Because you are my dad.
Your knowledge is deep. But, for a while there, I only knew you were gifted
mathematically. And I wasnt. Your patience is unprecedented. Youre the most patient
person in the family (after mom). I can still remember you used to drive me everyday
to the school which is 25 kilometers far even though you hate driving and get bored
out of it now. And many times when I forget my textbooks back home and I call you,
youre always like I am coming this time but this shouldnt repeat. And I know Im
lucky. Because you are my dad.
Your generosity is immense. If someone needs a favor, all they have to do is
ask.Pankaj. I need your help in a blah blah blah. Can you help me with blah blah
blah? inquires a friend. Hubby, can you pick up Priyam from devidayal? asks your
wifey. Your answers have always been yes, yes and yes. And Im spoiled. Because you
are my dad.

Your love is boundless. Over the years, youve heard me say I hit the lottery with you
and Mom as parents. Theres literally never been a time Ive needed you and you
werent there. From all my school projects to my cricket practices youve been there
for all of it. And Im blessed. Because you are my dad.

For all of these reasons and so many more, I want to say thank you. Thank you for
being the best husband to my mother and the best father to Palak and me.
