SONATE OP. 49. NO. 2


Sonate Op. 49 No. 2 is one of the works of the great composer,
Ludwig Van
Beethoven. The piece is in G major and in this piece, just from the beginning
it already
exposes the motive. Measure 1 already has the motive. It has an ascending
triplet eighthnote arpeggio on the tonic chord G. In these first few measures, measure 1-8
we can find
the 1st theme in tonic with parallel period. While measure 8-12 is the main
theme phrase
that modulate to D major and in measure 13-14 that is where one can find a
Codetta. As the
music continues, a transition in D major can be found in measure 15-20 and a
second theme
with a contrasting period has been made that is in Dominant (D major) can
also be found in
measures 21-28. Also, a repetiton of the second theme has been made in
measure 29-36.
As the music goes on, in measure 37-52, it is was you call the CODA and then
a development
starts at measure 53-56. In these measure, the development phrase form
exposition theme
1 and theme 2 is in A minor. Meanwhile, there is a development in E minor in
measure
57-64 with contrasting period and measure 65-66 is the Codetta to G major.
Recapitulation

then starts at measure 67. Theme 1 in G major tonic is found in 67-74 and
measure 75-87
developed transition from exposition to D major then G major tonic. Towards
the end of the
piece, measure 88-95 theme 2 from exposition in G major in contrasting
period and its
connected repetition measure 96-103.
