2016-2017 School Year

Dear Parents & Friends,

I know that this has been a

stressful time throughout our
country as many awaited the
outcome of the presidential
election. As in any election,
candidates always make plans
and promises. Some people
are excited for them and others
are scared that they will
actually come to fruition. The
truth is that changes in national
policies
take
years
to
accomplish. It is highly unlikely
that a candidate could fully
achieve their goals during a 4year tenure.
Having said all that,
remember that Jesus Christ is
King. He is our final judge. I
ask that we all continue to pray
for every race, religion and
gender and for those who make
the laws that govern us.
God Bless!
Nancy Butters

LUNCHES
According to policy, if your
child is going to be late to
school, parents should contact
the office by 8:15am to order a
lunch. We have been having a
lot of problems with students
coming in late without calling
and then Linda finds that she is
short on food because they
werent planned for. Students
who arrive after 10:30am and
havent called to order a lunch
will need to bring a sack lunch.
If they come without, we will
call you to bring something up.
We
appreciate
your

CHILDREN ATTENDING
PTO MEETINGS
Students sometimes want
to attend PTO meetings to be
able to spend more time with
friends.
Unfortunately, that
typically causes chaos and a
loss of control for those who
are babysitting the little ones.
Going forward, please make
other arrangements for any
children over 5th grade during
the meeting unless they have
been scheduled to babysit for
service hours. The school is
liable for the safety of these
children so we want to do all
that we can to ensure that.
Please talk with your children
that do go with the babysitters
and remind them that they
must follow directions given by
the older students.
Its very important to have
parents participate in PTO; so
if the request makes it difficult
to attend meetings, please
contact the office to discuss
options.
Middle
School
students may volunteer to
babysit, by contacting Leonae
DeLaTorre at 913-608-6951.

THANKSGIVING FEAST

Thank you to everyone who

volunteered to donate or cook
a turkey for the feast. You will
find the list in blue envelopes
today for what each student
needs to bring. Please make
sure to have all dry food items
here by Friday, Nov. 18 and
the refrigerated items on
Monday or Tuesday, Nov. 21
-22 in the mornings. If for
some reason you are unable
to send the item on the list,
please let us know so that we
are able to find replacements
Typically we have about 6-8
parents here to help Linda fix
and serve the meal and clean
up. If you are able to help,
please call Carmen in the
office. Thank you!
