NANCYS NEWS

10th Edition

October 20, 2016

Our Lady of Unity Catholic

School
2016-2017 School Year

Dear Parents & Friends,

Today you are receiving the

directions I promised regarding
how to keep track of student
grades, attendance, homework,
lunch account, etc. It is a good
idea to check this information
occasionally to verify accuracy
and address any concerns you
have in a timely manner.
The username and password
information you receive may be
in the wrong language due to a
challenge we had with printing.
If you are unable to access the
records, please contact Ms.
Carmen and she will help you
with the process.
To login, go to our website
(shown above). Once you are
there, you will find information
to help keep you up to date and
answer many questions you
may have regarding the school.
When you scroll down, above
the crucifix, you will see a link
to Teacher Pages & Grade
Information. Click on that link
and it will take you to the sign
in page.
Once again, I thank you for
the commitment you have
made to your childs education.
God Bless!
Nancy Butters

SCHOOL UNIFORMS
We will postpone the wearing
of long pants for one more
week due to unseasonably
warm weather. At this time, it is
expected that all students will
be in long pants by Oct. 31.

PRESCHOOL/AFTER
SCHOOL SURVEY

A survey went home last

week to determine the interest
in adding a preschool and/or
after school program to OLU
for the 2017-2018 school year.
If the replies show a significant
interest, we will continue to
move forward. However, a low
interest level may cause us to
abandon these programs as
viable additions to the existing
education we provide.
If you know families who
may be interested in preschool
or after school care for school
age children, please offer them
a survey to be returned to the
school as soon as possible. If
you have children of your own
who you would like to utilize
these services, we also need
your input. Thank you.

ADULT FAITH
FORMATION
All families receiving tuition
scholarships need to have at
least one adult participate in
faith formation throughout the
school year. There are many
opportunities coming up to
help you accomplish that goal.
Always check your newsletter
as I plan to put opportunities
there. Wyandotte County is
hosting a Novena for
Stewardship in the beginning
of November. OLU will host
two nights of the Novena at
SJE, Nov. 4 & 6, beginning at
7:00pm. Parents who attend
this Novena may count this as
their faith formation.

CYO BASKETBALL

Basketball practices will

begin in the beginning of
November. Students will not
be allowed to practice unless
they have registered and had
their physicals. If your child
was unable to register last
week when Tommy Medina
was here, there is still time.
Boys and girls in grades 3-8
are eligible. Please call the
school or Tommy (913-5304482) with questions. Thanks!

TRASH BAGS
Thanks to the students who
have been selling trash bags
after weekend Masses. We
would like to continue this
practice for the next several
weeks. Please call the office
if your child is available to sell
trash bags after any of the
weekend Masses at SJE or
SH. They will receive service
hours for this. Thank you.
