News Flash - From next week there will be a

FOCS post box in the school reception. Any
cheques or letters for FOCS can be posted
here instead of handed in at reception

Welcome to the first edition of the Friends of Collingham School (PTA) 2016 Newsletter. Its all change
this year so please see details of your new committee and Class Reps below. All are very welcome to
attend our meetings (now held in CALSA) and offer input through the committee and class reps.
Massive thanks to all involved in FOCS last year and to Liz Cooper who steps down as Treasurer.

What are FOCS raising money for?

This year FOCS have committed to give 3,500

to fund the following;
Christmas selection boxes, Yr 6 diaries and
revision books, educational visits, classroom
additional resources, plants for the science
curriculum, ice lollies on Sports Day & the
parent text service

The 2016 Christmas Fair will be held on

Saturday 26th November. VOLUNTEERS

YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP
Thursday 1st December is Christmas kids
Movie Night

Other events planned (Dates TBC) are;

For the Kids; Christmas disco, Easter Bingo,
Summer Family Fun Day
For the Parents; Boden Night, Quiz Night,
School Disco

We are also hoping to fund additional resources

which cannot be afforded through the school
budget. Last Year FOCS raised money towards
Astro Turf for Yrs 3 &4, maintenance of the
garden areas and refurbishment of the pirate
ship in the Front Play Area.
Any contribution to help with our fund-raising
is massively appreciated no matter how small.
All are welcome at the FOCS meetings but if
you are unable to attend and can help in other
ways please let us know.

All parents are automatically members and

are welcome to come to any meeting. There
is no pressure to take jobs / commitments

away. This meeting will be focused on fund

raising ideas.

CHRISTMAS IS NEARLY HERE

Christmas Cards
If your children would like to create their own
Christmas cards they will need to create a
Christmas image on A4 paper at home (no
glitter please). Watch out in book bags for
order forms.

Father Christmas and his elf
will be visiting the class rooms
nearer the big day to deliver
selection boxes

If anyone is able to secure any prizes for the

Christmas Fair raffle we would be really
grateful. Please contact Claire Richardson or
Gillian Pickersgill.
