Daily Topic- Dental Hygiene- The Health


Objectives: The students will be able to recognize the importance of routinely dentist checkups
and recall dental hygiene techniques.
Procedures: order of activities I will discuss the importance of routinely dental check-ups and
why we should have these cleanings every six months. I will use a web quest to demonstrate my
technology presentation on the health of dental hygiene.
Technology presentation- The web quest will explain points of how to keep your teeth strong and
healthy, the key steps in order to keep them clean, the advantages one may receive while keeping
up with their oral health, and tips for brushing and flossing.
Technology activity- I will create a Prezi showing the students how to make a brochure. The
brochure will be evaluated on what they learned from the web quest of information I have given
them about the teeth. I will ask them to make a tri fold, with labeling each from the key points
taught in the lesson such as Tasks, Process, and Why I should have regular check-ups, Tips for
brushing and flossing, importance of keeping up with oral health, and advantages for a healthy
smile. I will ask them to write what they have learned under these sections and add in pictures of
what a healthy mouth may look like.
Materials needed: Computer, Internet connection, Microsoft Publisher, Printer
How do you accommodate students with: special needs, non-native, and gifted: Students who are
gifted will be given more time and extra work to enhance their learning ability. Non-native
students will have a bilingual assistance to guide them. Special needs students will also have
extra time to work and enhance their learning ability.
Daily evaluation- The students will be graded on Spelling and proofreading, Attractiveness and
organization, Graphics and pictures, Content-Accuracy, and Knowledge gained.
