Student PIE Center Employee Harry Potter Enthusiast

Being raised in the agriculturally rich community

of Okeechobee, Fla., Brandon McKee began
his passion for agriculture at a young age.
Throughout high school he followed his interest
in the agricultural industry as a member of the
National FFA Organization. This organization
allowed him the opportunity to take a year off
between high school and college to serve as
State President.

McKee began at the University of Florida in

the spring semester of 2016. His passion for
agriculture led him to enroll in his current major
of food and resource economics. He is also
receiving a minor in leadership.
His leadership knowledge has allowed McKee
to increase his involvement on campus. He serves
as a college of agricultural and life sciences
ambassador, middle school student mentor and
as a youth group leader for Greenhouse Church.
In the future, McKee eventually sees himself
becoming involved in ministry. Before that
time comes, he plans on receiving a Master of
Science degree in either extension education
or economics. McKee sees himself working in
the agricultural industry in south Florida for
a large agriculture-related entity such as the
United States Department of Agriculture or the
Southwest Florida Water Management District.
Currently, he enjoys working as a research
assistant with the Center for Public Issues
Education Center. Between his affinity for the
University of Florida and his love for education,
working at the PIE Center was a natural
development. McKees roles include data entry
writing research papers and impact stories.

He expressed his gratitude in the

opportunities working at the PIE Center has
afforded him. His favorite aspect of his job
is the dynamic individuals he interacts with
on a daily basis. McKee looks forward to
an optimistic future with his work at the PIE
Center.
