How can I tell if my trees

are infected?
Conduct a Pen Test.
Collect a pen and a leaf from the tree.
Draw two circles on opposite halves
of the leaf.
Is the pattern the same in both
circles?

How can I help stop

greening?

Use antibacterial products on young tree.

Streptomycin is an antibacterial
product that local county extension
offices are able to treat trees with.

What does greening

look like?
Tree symptoms
Asymmetrical blotchy mottling of leaves

Propagate from certified healthy trees

Remove trees if they are infected, branch
removal is not effective
Buy trees from a certified nursery
Check your trees four times a year

If the patterns are different, it could

potentilaly be greening if other diseases
have been ruled out.
If the patterns are the same, it is very
unlikely.

Who can help my trees

if it is too late?
Unfortunately, there is currently no cure to
citrus greening. The best thing to do if you
have a tree that is infected is to remove the
tree completely and dispose of it properly.
UF IFAS Extension is a great resource to
help with all horticultural needs.

Fruit Symptoms
Lopsided, misshapen fruit
Fruit tastes salty and bitter
Internally may have aborted seeds
