The event will be held on June 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For the aspiring sea turtle scientists, children will be given the chance to play turtle trivia for the opportunity to win a prize. Students interested in arts and crafts will be able to create fun crafts to take home. Event attendees will also be given the opportunity to speak with researchers from the Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research at the University of Florida. The researchers are able to answer any questions regarding sea turtle conservation and careers in marine biology. Tours of the sea turtle exhibit will be given by staff from the Sea Turtle Conservancy. The Sea Turtle Conservancy was created in 1959 to create awareness of sea turtles and the issues surrounding the species. As a non-profit organization, they specialize in fundraising events, education, advocacy and habitat preservation. -30The Florida Museum of Natural History inspires people to value the biological richness and cultural heritage of our diverse world and make a positive difference in its future. The museum is located at 3215 Hull Road just east of Southwest 34th Street in the University of Florida Cultural Plaza in Gainesville. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Butterfly Rainforest admission is $10.50 for adults ($9 Fla. residents) and $6 for ages 3-17. Prices subject to change.
