Curriculum

Bible: As we continue our study of Jesus preaching, we will learn about Peters
confession, the Transfiguration, and how Jesus was the friend of children this week.
The students are enjoying celebrating Advent with their Jesse Trees!
Reading: We are reading the story The Alvin Ailey Kids: Dancing as a Team. We are
working on main idea and summary.
Vowac: We will review the use of the letter y as a vowel, words with ss, ll, ff, zz, c,
k, ck, ch, tch,.
Math: We will continue working on two-digit subtraction with borrowing.
Science: We have begun to brainstorm ideas about how we can help those who dont
have the ability to stay healthy or access to hygiene items. The second grade
students voted to send our donations to Haiti. This week we will brainstorm what we
will put together and how we will gather the donations.
Writing: We will start a new personal narrative using a beginning, middle, and end
graphic organizer to help us organize our story.
