MFE Phase Loss and LED Indication

Faults
1. Phase Losses at Start Up
i)
ii)
iii)

Multiple Phase Loss - 3 or 2 phases missing.

Soft start will not power up microcontroller. No led indication.
L2 phase (uncontrolled phase/straight through) missing.
Soft start will not try a ramp. LED indication 1.
L1 or L3 phase missing.
Soft start will trip during the ramp. LED indication 3 or 5.

2.

Phase Losses During the ramp

i)

Multiple phase loss 3 or 2 phases missing.

Soft start will power down. When power is back on it will restart.
L2 phase (straight through) missing.
Soft start will trip out at top of ramp. LED indication 1.
L1 or L3 phase missing.
Soft start will trip straight away. LED indication 3 or 5.

3.

Phase loss during normal running

i)

Multiple phase loss - 3 or 2 phases missing.

Soft start will power down. When power is back on it will restart.
Single phase loss - L1 or L2 or L3 individual.
Motor will single phase. Motor overload needs to protect system.

4.

During Normal Running - multiple phase losses

If the three phase supply is interrupted for 3 or more cycles the unit will trip out. When the power
is back on it will restart.

LED Indication
If tripped the MFE LED will repeatedly flash the number of times shown below then pause and repeat.
