Current Job Description:

I currently work as a Student Nurse Technician at Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health
Care System where I provide direct patient care and work among other healthcare professionals
such as registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and
physical therapists. The skills required for this job include:
Taking vital signs.
Taking blood glucose levels.
Providing hygiene care for patients, including perineal care and bed baths.
Turning and transferring patients using body mechanics and transferring equipment in the
hospital.
Interdisciplinary communication with co-workers.
Performing 12-lead EKGs.
Complete inventory form during a patients admission into the unit and assist the nurses with
admission tasks.
Document intake and output.
Assist in discharges or transferring patients to other units.
Floating to different units in the hospital and adapting quickly to the different areas of the
hospital in order to provide excellent care for the Veteran.
