Is the process of making groups of tens when adding

or subtracting two digit numbers (or more) and is
another name for carrying and borrowing. If that
sounds like nonsense to you, fear not, because we will
spell out the process clearly for you.

Students Prior Knowledge:

- Students already have practiced how to subtract.
Possible Problems :
- Students may cause noise and mess because they've never try to be in groups in math
classes
Solutions for the Possible Problems:
- Teacher will tell them that it is the first time for them to be in a group in math so she
wants them to follow some rules such as: working quietly, passing the marker so
everyone will work and leave everything once they hear the alarm.
- Teacher will prepare rewards for them if they followed the rules.
Misconceptions:

Targeted teacher questions to promote HOTS
Student communication and use of math language
Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge):
Teacher will explain the management tool. She will give them some rules
they have to follow during the group work like working without making
mess, passing the marker to let all members engaged and stop working
when they hear the alarm. She will tell them that after they follow those
rules, all groups can get the rewards except the one who will not.

Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):

Teacher will go back to the PPT to show students how they can solve the
question using the step and the regrouping.
After writing the equation on the board, the teacher will choose students
to cheek their understanding present another question and ask them to
do it with cubes.
Then teacher will move to the individual work to make sure all students

give the instructions of what they have to do. They have to work in
individual to subtract with regrouping. She will remind them with the
rules and the rewards. The high level groups will get the paper that that
have all the steps. The middle group will get a normal question which is
drawing and estimate then subtract. The low level will get the paper
that has the model of the cubes and they have to draw then subtract.
Teacher will set the alarm for 5 minutes. After they finish, teacher will
choose one from each group to present their their equation.
Individual work: To end the class, Teacher will present 1 page of student
book on the board and explain to students how to solve them. Then,
