Operator Enterprise Agreement

The new Enterprise Agreement for Operators was approved by the Fair Work
Commission to take effect this week.
The first feature of the EA to be implemented was the progress payment towards the
2016 Annual Incentive Program (AIP). Consequently our Operators received a progress
payment of approximately $2000 towards this years AIP.
The Tomago AIP is designed to reward our great performance in safety, productivity and
cost control.
With one month to go in 2016, we are currently tracking at an achievement rate of around
130% against the common Tomago AIP targets.
At the current business performance Operators can expect another payment of a similar,
but possibly higher amount once the final business performance is measured at the end
of 2016.

Similarly our Maintainers have an opportunity to join the 2016 AIP in a proposed EA that
will be put to an approval vote before the end of this year.
Keep up the great work!

First Year Apprentices Hook in a Catch

Last week during a cost saving initiative of inspecting the warehouse building roof, our aerial drone
had a sight malfunction and performed several aerobatic tumbles across the roof. (Apparently it had
nothing to do with chief pilot Marshall Holdens flying skills!)
So we were then faced with the dilemma of how to
retrieve the drone from the middle of the Warehouse roof. Hiring of an expensive crane and manbox was out of the question. To the rescue came
James Gordon and Cameron Iliffe, two for our first
year mechanical apprentices.
They designed a grapple hook system and with the
help of 2nd year apprentice, Jordan Marshalls EWP
skills, were able to retrieve the damaged drone.
With a couple of new propellers, it is now back in
the air! Great work!

With all proceeds going toward the Movember

and hecklers and in the process managed to raise
over $1100. Tomago has generously matched this
money raised, donating another $1,100 to a very
worthy cause.

To those who missed out on joining the team: do

Single Crane Anode Change Trial

This week in Electrolysis we achieved a significant milestone, we changed our first anode from
the floor using a remote control. This achievement is off the back of two months of hard work
from the steering committee, shift committee and the Operating & Maintenance teams. This
milestone is even more significant as it is the first of its type in Australasia. Well done!

Christmas Light Safety

Christmas is a time for relaxation, family fun, presents.and Christmas lights!!
The box full of lights fills you with dread, the pressure is on and theyve ALL got to go somewhere!
All too easily every available power point can get
loaded up, and more extension leads are connected to get this complex display of lights working.
Take care not to overload power outlets, and use
switched power boards where possible.

Keep these away from where children can access

them. And only use extra low voltage lights LEDs
or similar (less than 50V and preferably lower).

And oh yesit is bound to be a hot summer please limit your creativity where
water and electricity is concerned.
