After a preliminary survey of the area, the students wanted to study the microclimate of
the school.
(i) One student thought that the air temperatures within the school compound vary
across different areas. State a suitable hypothesis to test this idea and explain how it
could be tested.

(i) Use the data in Table 1 to produce a graph on Fig. 2 (Insert 2). It should show the
wind speed and temperature of all areas.

areas. They stood still in the area for 10 seconds and recorded the highest wind speed.
Suggest improvements to the data collection method.
