EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Objective
To research, design, and build a phone stand that is capable of 360 degree
rotation

Goals
I wish to 3D Print all the parts needed to make the phone stand.
The phone stand should be stable and capable of being used with phone
cases

Project Requirements

At least 1 working prototype

2 different designs for the overall project

Phase 1: Research and Presentation

I must research many different things about phones, phone cases, and phone
stands

How am I going to make it pivot 360 degrees

How am I going to make it hold a phone with case?
How am I going to make it stable?
o Deliverable: Cornell Notes with MLA format works cited

Phase 2: Brainstorming / Rough Drawings

Produce at least 2 different ideas for freehand sketches

Pivot mechanisim
Foot design
Phone holder itself
o Deliverable: 2 Freehand Drawings with ANSI format

Phase 3: First Prototypes

I will use the 3D printers to create all of my prototypes

Create Solid works files and assemblies to prove concept

o Deliverable: Ortho/Iso Drawings of each part with
Assembly and Exploded Assembly

This is my final. I would like to 3D print a prototype
but because of time constraints that might be
unavailable.

Phase 3.5: Printing First Prototypes

Use the 3D printer to actually create my prototype

Create 3D printed model of prototype

o Deliverable:

Phase 4: Budget
Research how much It costs to print things with a 3D printer
Final cost will be determined upon final printing

Phase 5: Final Printing and testing

Print final design.

Go back to phase 3 if changes need to be made.
