We all use many parts of our brain in simple and complex actions. Your task
is to work with a partner (or alone if you prefer) to create an informative, yet
creative and fun book that looks at the brain and how its used.
You are to write a story about a person or character, and tell us about all the
different actions of their day. As your character engages in different activities
and behaviors, you are to point out the areas of the brain that are active
during that activity. You must also, in pictorial form show me the location and
function of the part of the brain that is being used.
Your book must contain:
A cover/title page
At least 10 references to different parts of the brain
1 brain structure per page (hence, a minimum of 11 pages)
You must show me a picture of the appropriate part of the brain (per
page)
o And, define that part of the brain within the context of the story
Every page in the book must have pictures, and be colorful
Every page in the book must have at least one, interactive or pop-up
up feature
o Different textures, pop-ups, moving parts, sliding pages,
windows, pull-tabs, etc.
You will be graded on creativity, neatness, content, & accuracy.
If you are not artistic and/or do not have nice handwriting, I would suggest
you print out your pictures, and/or type your story. But, if you can write and
draw neat & creative, you are more than welcome to do that.
