BBB3102 PUBLIC SPEAKING

SEM I 2016/2017
ASSIGNMENT 5: ONE-ACT PLAY (20%)

Instructions:
1) Form a group of five members.
2) Print the form from epembelajaran@umt.edu.my, complete it (one form per
group), and submit to your instructor in class.
3) In class, conduct a discussion to choose a play from the provided list below
and then decide a role for each member in the play. (Each of the play will last
about 10 minutes. A member can be assigned more than one role if
necessary).
4) Before next class, print out the scripts from the given links below and bring to
class.
5) In class during Week 12 and 13, practice the play.
6) In week 14, get ready to perform the play in front of your classmates.

Notes: There are two types of assessments for this assignment. The first part is
assessment on your teamwork skills (Course Learning Outcome 4, LO5) and the
second part on your delivery, focusing more on your pronunciation and enunciation
(Course Learning Outcome 3, LO4).

For teamwork skills, you will be assessed during your discussion and
practice in class (Week 12 and 13). Assessment will be made on your
ability to
o foster good relationship with other members
o assume alternate roles in the group
o respect and accept others opinions

For delivery, you will be assessed during the performance of one-act


play (Week 14). Assessment will be made on your ability to
o speak audibly and clearly
o speak using the proper pronunciation, enunciation, articulation
and intonation
o effectively use nonverbal cues (gestures, facial expressions,
body movement)

WELL WOMEN/FEMALE VILLAGERS.
