VARK Learning Style

Instruction:
In 45 students, the class will be divided into 5 groups. To avoid ruckus, students should
go their respective groups silently. If anyone who doesn't participate in this activity, the
group she/he belongs will be automatically disqualified and receive low score in their
grades.

" PICTIONARY"

Mechanics:
Some papers will be posted on the board indicate in different levels (easy, moderate,
difficult. Inside of those, are words that the participants must draw on the board. Each
group will be given 1 minute to guess or give meaning what their members draw on the
board. Each level has equivalent points: easy (1 point), moderate (3 points), difficult
(5points). The group who gets the highest score will be awarded.

Rules:
1. Maximum of two (2) numbers symbol will be used or draw on the board.
2. Non-verbal communication (signals, body language and etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Whoever gets caught by making an action will eventually have deducted five points in
their final score.

Instruction:
In 50 students, the class will be divided into 10 groups. Students should go to their
appropriate groups. Whoever doesn't participate in the activity will be removed from the
group and automatically zero.

"SPELLING BEE"

Mechanics:
A voice recorder will be putted in front of the class. The voice will give 20 words to be
spelled by the students from easy to difficult. The voice will only repeat the words twice.
After the final word given, the group should exchange their answers to the other groups
to avoid cheating. The group who gets the highest score will be awarded.

Instruction:
The class will be divided into 5 groups. Students must participate in this activity. Use the
time wisely.

"STORY MAKING"

Mechanics:
Within an hour, the group should make a story (any genre) that consists of 1000, words
and has a moral lesson. When words do not reach a thousand words or more than of it
will be deducted on their grade (1 point per 2 words). After an hour, each group should
choose a representative with have a good quality of voice to read their story in front of
the class. The teacher will provide a box with full of questions. The teacher will choose a
group to pick a question that will be answered by the reporter or his/her co-members. The
grading system will be divided into two which are the proper reading and writing.

These are the following questions:


1.Characterize the protagonist, antagonist and other characters.
2. Explain your favorite part of the story.
3. Pick at least 2 philosophies in the story and compare it in your own/personal
philosophies in life.
4. Select one scenario, where you can relate to then cite your own experience.
5. If you have given a chance to change the ending of the story, what it will be and why?

Instruction:
The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups. Students should go their respective groups
without making noise.

"SIMULATION OF MASS COMMUNICATION"

Mechanics:
Each group will make a scenario that shows about the functions of mass communication.
The twisted part of the activity is, they will have done this within 5 minutes. The
extended time will be deducted to their grade, one point per one minute. The following
group will be assigned into:

Group 1- Surveillance Function


Group 2- Correlation Function
Group 3- Entertainment Function

The group who did the best based on the criteria given will be awarded.
