What is a factual essay?

 Exploring a topic and current issues

 Presenting ideas and facts in a logical manner.
 It is about presenting facts and to inform the readers.
 Fictional ideas are not develop in a factual essay.

Guidelines to write a factual essay

 Read the question carefully and prepare an outline with an Introduction, a Body
and a Conclusion.
 All the paragraphs must be well – linked and each paragraph must have a different
point. You may do a mind map to organise your points.
 Decide which point would go into which paragraph.
 Write your points in logical order.
 Relate and connect each points between paragraph.
 Support your points with real figures, illustrations and examples.
 Write in a clear and reasonable way and present your points in a right time order.
 End your essay with impressive concluding statements.

knowledge about the topic.

as topic sentences supported with
elaboration, by giving figures and
examples.
 Use formal language and avoid the use of
