VISUAL-ORAL LITERACY REFLECTION

In the Visual-Oral Literacy section of my e-portfolio,

I have included a definition of both visual and oral
literacy, my slam poem, the rough and final drafts
of my ethnography, and a journal entry about how I
was not looking forward to performing my slam
poem. I included a definition of both visual and oral
literacy just to remind myself of what exactly the
two are and to incorporate some vocabulary into
my portfolio. Overall, Id say the most challenging
thing for me was either creating the magazine
articles or performing my slam poem. To be honest,
I have never been the best or most creative when
it comes to projects and I dont know how or why,
but I still have a huge phobia of speaking in public
or doing anything where I must talk in front of a
crowd of people. But surprisingly, I feel like I have
become a better public speaker because of the
slam poems we had to present, before I performed
it, I felt like I was going to be judged by everyone,
and after I performed the poem, I felt so relieved
and happy because I overcame my nerves and I
felt like my peers liked my slam poem. I also made
minor adjustments to my slam poem by removing
random and or pointless comments I had in the
poem when I first performed it.
