-Before reading the book, students looked at the cover that had a
shell and discussed where theyve seen shells before
-the before activity was drawing a web-circle of the word shells
-Children silently read until teacher asked them to read outloud.

-Talking about the title and picture on the cover helps students infer
what the book will be about
-When the teacher asks whats most important from the page that
makes the students think about the significant details that stuck out
to them

activities of significance that

-Teacher went around the reading table asking each student what the
author wanted them to remember about the different shell creatures
-other children were finishing their writing and drawing pictures to
go with their work

-I wondered why the teacher had one student read out loud while
others were reading their own pace silently
Question: Will the students reading aloud to the teacher distract the
students that are reading silently?
