ear prospect,

Thank you for your interest in the Executive MBA program at ASEBUSS, offered in collaboration with
Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Atlanta, Georgia U.S.A.

There has never been a time when leadership and the ability to make world wise
decisions, the adept use of technology and international experience were more
critical to the success of professionals. We applaud your decisions to obtain an
Executive MBA diploma, which will position you as a higher class leader in a
dynamic global business environment.
The focal point of our long-standing Romanian-American alliance is the joint international residency involving both ASSEBUS and KSU Executive MBA students. For the residency portion of the two programs, multinational teams from each school are formed to work together both in Romania and the U.S. During a seven
month project, students are exposed to contrasting business practices in the cross-cultural, multi-national
world of commerce, and are exposed to state-of-the-art technology-based collaboration tools to conduct their
work between on-site visits to their respective countries. The joint residency has proven a powerful learning
experience unmatched by other Executive MBA programs.
We recognize the special assets students bring to our programs and have designed a value-based response to
their desire to achieve long-term personal career goals. Thank you again for considering us as a partner on
this journey.
Sincerely,
Michael S. Salvador, Ph.D.

EMBA 2007

Executive MBA is
a distinct type of MBA program,
specifically designed for working
managers and professionals with
a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience, ready to make a
step forward in their career, usually to an executive position.
What are the differences between
an MBA and an Executive MBA?

Target
EMBA programs are aimed at senior executives with managerial
experience, whereas the regular
MBA profile requires only the
university degree and 2-3 years of
work experience

Curriculum
EMBA curriculum focuses on
subjects, activities and case
studies that are expressly linked to
leadership at this level, although
disciplines are similar with those
in an MBA program.

Team of professors
Faculty are especially trained to
draw on the participants managerial experience and integrate it
with the course contents to produce learning with real, applicable
value.

The ASEBUSS EMBA has been one

of my best personal experiences ever.
It was a real gain to be surrounded by
almost 40 professionals like the series
EMBA 2008. Small entrepreneurs, like
myself, learn how to better build up their
businesses; the EMBA sets a framework
that clarifies the future for these
companies, setting the pace for solid
growth. I am a very different professional

often use these contacts to support my dayto-day business challenges.

The EMBA program starts in

September with an Orientation
Weekend in Bucharest that serves
as a great introduction to your
entire class, the curriculum and the
collaborative, hands-on learning
process you will rely on throughout
the program.

Twice per academic year, we organize the Residence Weeks, outside Bucharest. These are intense
periods of study when courses
are organized for both cohorts of
students outside Bucharest, in a
special training location. Different
teams of American faculty come
and teach you and your colleagues.

The classes and the assignments

were all great experiences. But there
are especially two key things that I
consider are extremely important:
the Residence Weeks, intense
periods of study outside Bucharest,
where we learn and interact with the
American professors and colleagues
from Kennesaw State University. The
second is the importance of a great,
active, trustful and high-quality network
in all areas of business and I think
ASEBUSS has the best and largest
EMBA network.

Throughout the program and

in Residence Weeks, you and
your colleagues will work in
cross-functional study groups,
applying your collective skills and

both from case studies and from
your existing jobs. This puts the
coursework into the context of the
participants careers and makes
our classroom a workshop for
addressing real-time problems in
your work environment setting

as the basis for fulfilling course

requirements.
You will also experience the
dynamics of group communication and decision-making, factors that are increasingly critical
in business. And in discovering
ways to maximize your teams

your own skills as a leader.

ASEBUSS places emphasis on the

the use of the case method so that
the students become true experts
in company management and
decision making.
Every case is a reproduction of an
actual company situation. During
the program, you learn and share
SME and multinational problems
from the service and industrial
sectors. You must tackle a financial
dilemma or design and implement
new business policies. You learn
to make decisions in real-life
circumstances.

Joint Project
We are the only Executive MBA
program in Romania to offer its
participants the opportunity to
work directly with their American
colleagues in the International
Joint Project. The collaboration
among students starts with
the second year residency in
September, lasts over 8 months
and implies working together
on the International Project
through
virtual
meetings,
videoconferencing and other state
of the art technologies, as well as
face-to-face collaboration during
the International Residence Week
in Atlanta.

The business projects are selected

according to the common interests
of both Romanian and American
students and are completed during
the International Residence Week
when Romanian students travel
to U.S to present their projects
to the KSU professors, together
with their American colleagues.
This international exposure offers
students a unique opportunity to
learn together how to negotiate,
solve various issues and manage
across cultural, linguistic and
geographical boundaries while
being exposed to
the best
current practices and concepts in
international business.

from the entire Executive

Supervised by a faculty member, the

piece of work that requires you to
integrate theory and practice, as
well as use the knowledge and tools
introduced on the program effectively.
You will need to demonstrate your
ability to identify and understand

solutions to problems. You will
also need to analyze and interpret
information, data and options, while
making sound managerial decisions.

Past topics have included:

Short term organizational implications of management change
Manage employee retention in Romania
Organizational conflict and negotiation
Hedging for pharmaceutical industry in Romania
How to finance an investment for increasing capacity
Building on sustainability condition for going global
Forecasting for the pharmaceutical industry
Managing organizational change in a bank during a merger process
Performance management reflected into the incentive schemes
Reengineering of a Romanian company

Building company culture in a fast growing organization

The EMBA Program helped me, both professionally

Professionally, I acquired the needed additional
knowledge, as I learned how to produce a solid
business plan and also how to approach financial
management, risk management or operations
management issues
Starting from my dissertation paper I launched a
personal business, specialized in consultancy and
professional training in the supply chain field. I made

this step based on my 11 years of experience within

multinational companies but also based on the
knowledge I got during the 2 years of EMBA program.
Personally, I met wonderful people - professors and
