Introduction to Engg. Drg. Drg sheets size & folding, Pencils, Drawing
instruments used in Engg. Drg-its care & Maintenance. Lettering
practice-Free hand lining practice (Horizontal, Vertical & Inclined)-Types
of line and their uses as per BIS SP46:1988. Scales Types of scales.
Familiarization with AutoCAD application in engineering drawing.

Plane and Solid figures-Triangles-Quadrilateral-Circle-cube-prismsCylinder Pyramid-Cone-Sphere. Conventional representation of

materials used in Engg. Drawing as per BIS SP46:1988. Practice on
AutoCAD using Draw & Modify commands.
Types of projection-pictorial projection-isometric projection, perspective
projection, oblique projection, Orthographic projections-types of
projection-1st angle &3rd angle projection. Practice on AutoCAD with
Rectangular snap using Draw, Modify, Inquiry commands.
Isometric views-isometric views with square, taper and radial surfacesimple & complex views. Perspective views. Practice on AutoCAD using

Dimensioning-types of dimensioning-methods of dimensioning on
isometric views as per BIS SP46:1988.Practice on AutoCAD using text

Sectioning-full section-half section-offset section-revolved sectionremoved section-broken section. Practice on AutoCAD using Hatch
command and application
Geometrical representation as per IS: 8000. Free hand sketching of
machine parts-tracing & printing of drawing.
Free hand sketching of tools, components & machineries used in the
related trades. Practice on AutoCAD using 3D primitives with UCS
(User Co-ordinate system).
Fastening devices-Nuts-Bolts-Keys-Washers-Cotters and rivets.
Universal joint and couplings. Practice on AutoCAD to draw nuts, bolts
& washers.
Reading of engineering drawing and machine drawing- application of
convention and symbols as per BIS SP46:1988
