Oral/Visual Literacy Reflection
Our oral and visual literacy unit followed our written unit. This unit was
the most research built and immensely developed my skills as a researcher. I
learned how to be an effective observer and note taker as well as how to
effectively relay research in a cohesive manner that makes sense to those
reading. I chose to do my ethnography paper on a question I was curious
about mainly because it was relatable to my peers and I. What is all this
stress for success doing to my health? Can all these late nights with little to
no sleep deteriorate my health? As a student heavily involved in both
academics and extracurricular activities it was paramount that I explore the
possibilities or negative health effects from overloading. This was my favorite
unit because of the slam poetry assignment. This was the easiest
assignment of the course for me because I love to write poetry and being
able to explore that through this course was very pleasing to me.
