Physics Experiment

With a partner, you are tasked with designing and carrying out an experiment that
involves at least two of the formulas we discussed this unit.
This is wide open, but all ideas must be approved by Ms. Gallagher. Everyone must
pick a different question. Sign up your group names and questions with Ms. Gallagher.
You will design and perform your experiment December 14-15 and display your
poster in a gallery walk on December 19th.
Part 1: Designing your experiment
Your design must include the following:
1) A question
2) A hypothesis & prediction
3) A list of manipulated, responding and controlled variables involved in your
experiment
4) A step-by-step procedure including safety precautions
5) A list of required materials
6) A table where you can record your results
Part 2: Carrying out the experiment
1) Bring or acquire materials (ask Ms. Gallagher in advance for any materials you
need)
2) Carry out your experiment and record your data
3) Analyze your data - perform calculations and create graphs.
Part 3: Creating a poster
1) Create a poster that displays:
a. A question
b. A hypothesis & prediction
c. An brief version of your procedure
d. Your results
e. Analysis of your results (must include calculations involving the two
formulas)
f. A conclusion
