Dear Melissa:
I hope you watched Hillary Clintons June 2nd speech and I just wanted to address my
observations and commendations regarding the rhetoric she used. In this speech taken place in
San Diego, she discussed major foreign policy. She spoke about her plans for immigration
reform and continuing to expand health care.
I noticed that in her speech she exalted herself by highlighting Donald Trumps inability
to lead the nation showing why he is a danger to America. She did this in a way that gave her
credibility because she also gave a little bit of background information on what she has worked
on in the past that will help her in the future. In addition to this, she also had a very structured
speech which made it easy to follow along to what her plans were for foreign policy. Her tone of
voice and frequent pause breaks makes it easy to understand and grasp the points she is trying to
get across to her audience. Her tone was very calm and her points were really insightful.
I know that you are a Hillary Clinton supporter anyway, but I think this speech was very
important for those who are still indecisive for who they will vote for. Her rhetoric is far more
presidential than Donald Trump as she has clear structure in her speeches which makes it easy to
pinpoint what her plans are for the future of our nation. If you have not watched her June 2nd
speech yet, I urge you to do so and tell me what you think.

Best,
Carla Villanueva
