Assalamualaikum wrb. Good morning, my friends.
We are Group 1.
First of all, Im going to introduce myself and the group members. My name is Raja and
here are the group members. This is Sarah, this is Ezra, this is Ayub and this is Helmi.
Today, we are going to do a presentation on recount text. Sarah will explain what recount
text is and she will also read a recount text.

Before I read the recount text, I will explain what a recount text is. Recount text is a text
which tells about something that happened in the past. Here is a recount text that I will
read.
We Got Hit With A Broom
We had a bad experience in Mr. Armans math lesson last month. It happened in
class 8-5 which is our class. We rarely get Mr. Arman mad during his lessons. After
he explained the algebra subject, he asked us to do an exercise on our notebooks.
After that, he walked around the classroom while we were doing the exercise on
our notebooks. Mr. Arman also helped the ones who are still confused with the
subject. Mr. Arman went outside of the classroom and then the class got really
noisy. Some of the boys were shouting words and then Mr. Arman heard it. Mr.
Arman got really mad and annoyed. He rushed into the class and grabbed a broom
near the door. He hit all of us with broom one by one. He hit the noisy boys really
hard. Mr. Arman said he will hit us with the broom again if the class gets noisy
again.
Then, the whole class apologized to Mr Arman. The class continued the math
lesson like normally. It was a bad experience and we hope it will never happen
again.

The generic structure of recount text consists of orientation, events and reorientation.
Here is Orientation. Orientation provides the setting. Orientation tells who was involved,
what happened, where the events took place, and when it happened. Im going to read
the orientation from the recount text.

Here is Event. Event tells what happened and in what sequence. Im going to read the

Here is Reorientation. Reorientation consists of closure of events. Sometimes there is
the writers personal comment on the story. Reorientation is also optional, so its your
choice to put it in the text or not. Im going to read the reorientation from the recount
